The Weekly Crunch, founded by Asha and Carla in the winter of 2023, started as a radio show hosted in the GDA hallways at ArtEZ.
We sorta kinda highjacked various places in the GDA department and blasted our show for everybody to listen to, even if you didn’t want to hear our horrible (but very iconic and very real) ranting, you were forced to, and that was our point.
The show arose from an urgent need for our student voices to be heard, we acted as flies on the wall and observed and listened to what students wanted to say but were perhaps too scared to do so. The show developed into a space for conversation and community building and so it continued, but in a different form.
Constantly developing and adapting to the current issues has always been our approach, so we continued the following semester with a series of weekly printed issues, which handled topics around the feedback culture of GDA, the horrible canteen, the mice (it is unfortunately an ongoing topic to this day) and more.
Today the show continues, in the form of a podcast series on Instagram, and soon more to come...
