I am Carla, a fourth-year graphic design student at ArtEZ University.

My design practice is defined by curiosity and intuition, I like to follow my senses and my observations. Most of my time is spent gathering input in forms of reading, just looking, listening...

I like to take my inspiration from my real life surroundings, yet I always go back to a more child-like imagination, drawing inspiration from mystical worlds, looking at spirituality, nature and the universe. And then combining those two instances, communicating current matters through a more mystical lense.

I don’t like to restrict myself to a certain medium, I let the content that I am dealing with, decide what medium will suit best for its communication. This has led me to engage in many different things, such as performing in the form of a ritual, creating installations, live streaming, photographing, filming, book making, radio…

I am not shy of learning a new medium and jumping from form to form. What is important to me, is that the medium supports the communication of the chosen topic.
