Learn all about me...

I am Carla, a third-year graphic design student at ArtEZ University.

For the last 3 years, I have used my time and resources to delve into more “theoretical” matters such as hydrofeminism, generational immigration, sensory anthropology, and even some physics and chemistry here and there! All of my research topics are quite varied indeed, yet all of them follow the red thread of wanting to see change.

I somehow have this big urge and this big need for change in the way we live, we interact with each other and our environment, so I try to use art to propose new ways of thinking about the current path that we are following as a society. Proposing that there is no such thing as neutrality and that looking away is a stance on itself.

I don’t like to restrict myself to a certain medium, I am not trying to find my own aesthetic or style, and least not yet. For now, I let the content that I am dealing with, decide what medium will suit best for its communication. This has led me to engage in many different things, such as performing in the form of a ritual, creating installations, live streaming, photographing, filming…

I think I am not shy of learning a new medium and jumping from form to form. What is important to me, is that the medium supports the communication of the chosen topic.
