Stage & Costume Design — Production Development and On-Site Execution
Òh!pera is a pioneering initiative by the Gran Teatre del Liceu and Disseny Hub Barcelona, conceived under the artistic direction of Àlex Ollé to reimagine opera for contemporary audiences. The project brings together emerging and established creators to produce short-form operas that preserve the genre's core fusion of music, dramaturgy, and stage direction while exploring themes of identity, technology, ecology, and social conflict, staged in unconventional spaces that dissolve the traditional boundary between audience and performance.
Within this framework, I led the development and production organization of the stage and costume design, working alongside a small team to translate each opera's conceptual language into physical form. This spanned coordinating design development from initial concept through final execution, managing production logistics and timelines across multiple short works staged in parallel, and overseeing on-site production during installation and performance days — ensuring that scenography and costume held together as a coherent visual language across the project's more intimate, experimental staging.
The work sat at the intersection of spatial design and craft production: translating dramaturgical intent into set pieces and costume that could function inside non-conventional venues, while staying responsive to the fast turnaround and hands-on demands of a multi-production run.
